Hi. My name is Tab
and I’m a drive-thru-aholic. Yes, I am a
mom to three wonderful children, a wife to an incredible husband and a full
time worker and I like easy. I’ve never
loved to cook so I have for most of my married life taken the easy way out and
stopped for take-out two to three or even four times a week. Fast forward through 25 years of wedded bliss
and all of that take-out food has taken a toll on my body. I accumulated 40+ extra pounds (according to
who you ask).
I have in years past tried every diet, every ‘get slim quick’
pill and I can’t even begin to tell you how much money I’ve wasted on different
exercise programs. I have lost 10 – 15 pounds with different programs only to
quickly put the weight back on once I stopped said program. So here I am again.
In November we went on vacation to the beach and after
seeing those wonderful beach pictures, I decided that I could not keep letting
my health deteriorate and my waistline expand.
I’m a short girl and I can remember my grandfather talking about his mom
and saying that she was ‘five feet tall and five feet wide’. I’ve never been more than five feet tall and I do
not want to be five feet wide. The Monday following our vacation, I signed up
for Weight Watchers.
I’ve had great success so far and hope that this will be my
year to get it all off and maintain. I
love reading blogs and seeing other people’s ideas for meal planning. That’s where this blog comes in to play. I can’t cook all that fancy stuff and if I
set my table with some of those meals my family would just giggle and say, “where’s
the real food?”. I decided that if I
have had success with my way of eating, that I may be able to help someone
else. We do still eat out and I do still
go through the drive-thru sometimes, but I am learning how to make better
choices.
I’m looking forward to seeing how all of this unfolds and
hope to look back next year proud of what I accomplish.
Until next time….
